Candle stand chiaroscuro

  5. This is a very late reply. I'm not sure if you still check this but I just wanted to make a comment:
    This piece is quite beautiful but I wouldn't call it a chiaroscuro.
    Chiaroscuro refers to a very blunt and bold contrast, usually the shadows that fall on the subject are not defined against the shadows of the background. You do a good job depicting dimensions with tonality, shadow and light but it's mostly in midtones.
